Musique

I have been playing music for more than a decade now and although I chose to not take part in a band anymore, I keep writing my own material and collaborating with the various musicians I am lucky enough to meet during my travels. My main objective is to create songs that trigger an emotional response within the listener. The nature of these feeling I have no control on; it all depends on the peron's own background and sensitivity. Whether people love it or hate it, if these tunes do something to them, I will have achieved what I intended. Thanks to the contribution of many talented musicians, the music I had in my head is now taking shape. I will be grateful to them forever.

I am also proposing my services for providing music for any purpose. If you need music in any style for projects such as documentary, clip, movie or event, Cette adresse email est protégée contre les robots des spammeurs, vous devez activer Javascript pour la voir. and I will be happy to collaborate with you.

Amadeo Barrios' Impromptu
Écrit par Guillaume Erard

Amadeo Barrios

This piece is a bit special as it was conceived quite in an opposite manner compared to what is done usually. For once, we wanted to see if physical interpretation could drive the music, and not the opposite. It therefore started as a physical improvisation by acclaimed choreographer Amadeo while he was listening to a beat. Then, Jean-Jacques Flety and Guillaume Erard studied the performance and wrote the music that they felt illustrated the movements of the artist.

ayumi
It all started as a little joke when I proposed to Frank to sing something in Japanese. Needless to say that I was shocked  when he immediately accepted! Well, I was caught in my own trap and therefore started working on the instrumental track of Hamasaki Ayumi's "Moments", a song I really like. I then went to France to record his vocals. Since my sister was around, we decided to record it as a duet.

"Storm" by Tim Minchin

Tim Minchin

This is a fantastic  demolition of irrational and new age thinking through a very cool song/poem format told by Tim Michin. One of its merits, besides being very funny, is that it contains almost every important argument when it comes to explaning rational thinking. I must admit that the rant format pleases my tatses very much too...

Keisho Ohno 大野敬正, the new master of Shamisen.

Keisho is a shamisen player (Chikuzan style Tsugaru) who makes a point of preserving classics while pursuing his original style, outside the mold of traditional art, via collaborations with artists from different musical fields. Keisho's unorthodox performance style is now gaining great public attention.

High Sphere

High Sphere LogoIn many ways, High Sphere was my first serious attempt at making music. This was also a great opportunity to discover many things about music thanks to the experience of fellow members. This formation had a huge impact on my musical skills inspiring and challenging each other, we managed to reach a very high musical standard which could be seen very clearly on stage.

threo fallMy first experience with improvised music was with the band Threo Fall with Odilon Reignard (Flute) and Julien Verney (Percussions). This band was put together for a show based on the theme of water called Agua where High Sphere had been invited to play. Odilon, who organised the show, got the idea to put something together with me his friend Julien to complete the show.

Pyretta
Écrit par Guillaume Erard
Vendredi, 02 Février 2007 21:48
pyrettaI ended up playing with Pyretta after being asked to take part to the project by founding member and good friend Al White. We quickly put together a set of originals and a few covers and started playing gigs in Nottingham; most noticeably at the legendary Nottingham Rock City. Al likes to describe his music as powerful and emotional and I must say this is a pretty good account of what's going on there. I guess I brought a technical edge to it which ended up very complimentary to the feeling of both guitarists Al and Kam. I believe Dan (the drummer) and I; although not knowing each other that much; managed to found a very tight rhythm basis which helped a lot when due to technical reasons; we could not hear each other ;-) Anyways, these are memories that I am very found of. Nowadays, Al put up a brand new lineup and Pyretta is alive and raging again. I can't wait to hear their new material.

Sen No Sen

snsSen No Sen is a perpetually changing group of people passionate about music and a true envy to communicate feelings to the listener. This flexibility is the very thing that provides the richness of the music and the depth of the emotions. People involved in Sen No Sen come to meet, exchange ideas and create what will ultimately be a song; the final testimony of this ephemeral symbiosis.
