Video Interview: Micheline Tissier in Takasaki
I have spent the last week of June in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, to participate in the organization of the 12th Congress and Seminar of the International Aikido Federation. I have took this opportunity to sit down with several instructors and conduct some video interviews and I am very happy to offer you today the one I did with Micheline Tissier, 6th Dan Aikikai.
This interview was quite special because it took place more than eight years after my first interview with Micheline Tissier. We actually joked about it and we confessed to each other that before our meeting in Takasaki, each of us was thinking that we might find a little difficult not to fall into a repetition of the previous interview. Those familiar with Micheline Tissier know how easy she is to talk to and how generous she is, so less than ten minutes after the start of the recording, we found ourselves in a vivid conversation between practitioners that broke new grounds compared to last time.
The resulting video is a logical extension of our first discussion that took place nearly ten years ago, and an introspection into what makes Micheline Tissier exceptional, not only as a teacher, but also as a person.
